Saturday's visit and soccer

Yesterday was a busy day for us. Madeline had her first soccer game, where she made a goal, and also we went as a family to Chapel Hill. It was a beautiful day to to sit outside, and make a day trip. I was please to see parking wasn't crazy at the hospital so we could get in quickly.

My aunt Janice, cousin Carla and Brian went with us. So it was great for Madeline to have someone to hang with after her Clara visit. She actually got to play on the 7th floor in a play area/atrium. This area is for children who are patients and their siblings.

Jason and I were there during rounds and got to listen to the Doctors and Nurse practitioners discuss Clara.

Clara is 26 weeks, day of life 6.

  • 1 ml of my milk that morning which was going to be increased that day to 1.5ml
  • Main focus is to maximize nutrition to just get her bigger.
  • She is up in weight, to 550 grams. Which is a lot, probably still do to fluid.
  • Blood gas (which measures oxygen and bilirubin) blood work will be done. As well as Blood culture to see again if she had a infection which caused her episode the other night.
  • I got to again take her temperature and change her diaper.
We had a great nurse yesterday who gave us lots of  information. Our time was nice. However I was exhausted when we got home.

My aunt again fixed us supper and we had a time hanging out with my cousin Carla and Brian. Madeline has LOVED all the visitors. This past week I can tell has been hard for her. So just a little extra attention has been what she has needed.

I also want to thank Aunt Doggett and Carrie for coming friday and cleaning our house. What a relief to know we didn't have to do that this weekend.

Again all the out pouring to love through phone calls, cards, texts, dinners, etc has been amazing. I think when you are in the middle of something like this, just having someone to show up/ call and listen speaks so much.

Do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed for I am your God.
I will strengthen you
and help you.
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Isaiah 41:10
