When the Rain Falls.....Things Begin to Grow

This picture was taken before they took her back. She was so happy, and smiled at me before they walked away. We did hear from the surgeon that they did find malrotation of her small intestine and beginning of her large. They had suspected this from last weeks upper GI, but they thought it was unlikely. But.....anyway. They will cut an incision several inches in her belly and fix it and take her appendix out. They will proceed with the Gtube surgery afterwards. All of this will keep her here anywhere from 5-10 days here at UNC as they try and wake up her bowel. Not what we had expected but glad they caught it as it can be fatal. Waiting to hear from the ENT about her bronc, but I heard it went good from another source. Just wanted to keep you updated. Totally bummed about the news and about a lengthily stay.but glad the problem is fixed.  I will feel better when We can see her.
