Yay!!! We are finally home. Clara made a turn for the better two days ago. Literally a few hours before they were coming to get her for surgery for a broviac she pooped. I guess surgery scared the poop out of her!
We did make our scheduled swallow study today before she left, which she rocked! No aspirating while she drinks and eats. We were here before Madeline made it home for school. What a treat for her to have all three of us home together at the same time.
She told my mom a couple of days ago, as my parents brought her home from school or a ballgame. That she was the only one who lived here now. Which actually made me smile not made me sad, because you just have to know her personality.
Clara has her new gtube she will be hooked up to 24/7 for continous feeds, nurses back, more equipment, supplies, etc. We will navigate around all of it and make it fit into our lives, just as we always have.
She does still love her bottle, so we will continue to do that as well. As much as she wants.
I just feel that this new thing is going to make such a big difference, and is going to set her off! I am taking whatever positive things we learned from this, forgetting the rest :), and moving on to what God has planned for her and us!
Happy Thursday!
