No picture to post. Lights are out and we are trying to keep Clara calm. Last night went better than I expected, except at 5 am she was really upset and they gave her Valium. This morning I know she is uncomfortable. She is trying to close her eyes and relax. However any little noise will wake her up, and she will start whining and whimpering. She is also very jumpy, when they come near her.
I am waiting to meet with pain team, and ask if she need narcotics with the epidural. However her sats look great, and don’t show any signs that she is in pain (high heart beat). So I don’t know. I just want to make her comfortable.
Clara is nonverbal and can’t tell me what hurts, or if is she scared. I wish she could. All morning Jason and I have been taking turns with gently rubbing her cheek, hand and arm. This helps. They come in literally every hour to check something, vitals, reposition her, medicines. This always wakes her up. I did over hear that PT was coming today before lunch.
I’ll get more info soon, as well as a feeding plan.
