You are amazing!

I think of all the things I would like to pass along to my two girls, it is that they are wonderfully made and truly amazing. I think of all the heart ache I inflicted on myself when I was younger, feeling so flawed, never good enough. I filled that void with things that would never last very long, and ultimately just left me feeling lost. 

I wish I had slowed down long enough and been more receptive to search for God. The one who really knows me and already loves me. To be honest, I don't even know if someone had sat me down and told me THAT, I would truly even had understood the depth of how he feels about ME as his daughter. But at 39 I understand it now.  

I was reading Holly Gerth's book You're Already Amazing, page 16, that a dear friend gave me. I found a part that really just stuck with me so much that I wrote it down in my journal. 

- It's time you knew you're amazing-

• You are not only amazing.
• You're enough
• You're beautiful
• You're wanted
• You're chosen
• You're called
• You've got what it takes...not just to survive but to change the world. 

The above photo is one of Madeline at the beach this past spring. At Wrightsville they have been dredging the sand and Ocean which left in May tons of big, but broken, large conch shells. We spent the morning looking for some and took a jar full home. 

 It makes me think how we as women search. We run and run in circles wanting to be a certain way, have certain things, look a certain way based on what others have, look like. "We wrestle with insecurity and guilt and try to live up to impossible standards" (Gerth)

I want my precious girls to know that they are "loved, accepted, and valued.  They are created the way He wants to them to be" (Gerth) How powerful it is to know that we are wanted, and no matter what obstacles  WE HAVE WHAT IT TAKES!

The search is over! God has claimed us amazing! And If you don't feel that way or if you are exhausted from searching to feel your void, seek HIM! He doesn't just restore..he transforms!
