The Christmas Flu!

I write this post from my bed, sick with the flu. Quartinned to my room, wide awake! I just took some cough syrup thinking I would finally get some sleep but not so much.

For the past week with the flu all around us, I have tried so hard to keep everyone away from the girls, especially from Clara. Strategically planned our Christmas at home away from both sets of family, who are sick, read all I could about H1N2....and yet I was the one to ultimately bring into the house. Just so ironic!! Gotta love teaching.

I think with tamiflu and four days out I am beginning to see the end of tunnel. Well for me. Clara is on tamiflu as well from her pulmonologist to be preventive, but Madeline could not be. Since she has no underlying medical conditions. So just waiting to see what happens.

As I have written this Christmas is our first together. I wanted it be so perfect...but things are left undone and no chance now of any time with family, no Christmas dinner with a house full of people....I guess now I throw my hands up with "it will be whatever it will be, as long as we are still together".

The photos above are some of my recent favorites. Madeline took the one of Clara smiling at me. We were practicing sitting up in the boppy, and I was making a smooching sound (which she loves). Her cheeks were so round and I could just see all her little teeth, with those grins. Like I have said Clara has a smile that will light up the room. Smiles are hard to come by sometimes, but when she does heart be still.

The other photo was of my glamorous Maddie during her first solo. She looked like a doll baby to me in her christmas "party" dress. She had to stand on her toes to reach the microphone. This moment I will keep etched in my mind, as a favorite.

Chirstmas with the flu stinks, no doubt about it. I look forward to busting out of this room without a mask on and loving on my two cuties and well Jason. As long as we are together, it's perfect to me.
