This past Sunday our sermon was how God moves us from the impossible to the possible. Just has he did with Mary. Such an unlikely mother, a child herself, virgin. Such an enormous request that God would place on her, but she accepted. And the greatest story ever became possible. All things are possible with God.
Sometimes I forget that, we all do. I feel that He is at a distance, watching me. That I am constantly in a lesson, being tested. Our life seems to be just a tremendous web of tough circumstances. And yes there is joy, great joy, but oh how it can be hard.
I always need a swift kick to remember how much I need God. I move along doing my thing, and I forget I just can't do it alone. This kick usually comes after I get scared, or worried. What will be, what will Clara's life look like, what will ours?
So....In the sermon our Minister gave a reminder God is not at a distance, He is actively involved in your life. Even if he is waiting with you, he is working in ways you can 't comprehend with your earthly eyes.
Joseph was 17 when his brothers abandoned him and 37 when he saw them again. God takes his time. He prepared Noah for the flood for 120 years, 80 years to prepare Moses for his work.
His called David to be king, and put him back as a Shepard, he called Paul to be an apostle and isolated him in Arabia for 3 years. God takes his time. He never give ups, never leaves you waiting. But is always working, weaving His own glorious web.
He is with you waiting.
He is actively working.
And oh how he loves us.
He moves you from your impossible web of circumstances to the possible. All things are possible because of him. Look at Mary, Noah, David, Paul and Jesus.
God will do what he has favored you to do. In your impossible sort of circumstances he will get you there, and is waiting with you all the way.
Also.....what I really have come to learn this Christmas is that sometimes God puts you on a journey that is so hard and wonderful all at the same time and says I will be there and he gives you people. People who wait with you, people who go right along with you, plowing through it beside you. You never feel alone, because He has provided this amazing support system for you to thrive, and make it. Our nurses, Clara's therapists, doctors, our families, our church and our friends. We love you all!!
Merry Christmas!
