When the Rain Falls.....Things Begin to Grow

6 months

These photos were taken after a bottle. As you can see she was very happy, probably because eating is one of Clara's favorite things to do. We are still pacing her because in the beginning she forgets to breathe. She drives her nurses wild with this!
So why no clothes? I think she was getting ready for a bath, which is not her favorite thing to do!  Basically Clara has always been a baby who hasn't liked to be messed with. She can be fast asleep, but if you touch her neck or foot to fix her neo probe, she always wakes up! Her little arms just start flying around, swapping my hands away. I remember a Respiratory therapist called her a octopus in the hospital before she got her trach. She hated getting her face re taped for her ET tube.
Who wouldn't want to be left alone after all that?

No seriously has funny as it seems, bathing, changing clothes, trach care are always a bear for us with her. Through PT we hope to learn some better ways to do this.

Clara is 6 months old and weighed last week 8 lbs and 14 ounces. I actually am starting to pack her newborn clothes up and get the 3 months stuff out. She is changing everyday with the way she looks. Jason and I constantly try and figure out who she looks like. My prediction is him.

She had her March Synagis injection last week. Maybe her last, until next RSV season. Count down is on for spring for us. I feel that then we can finally take a big breath, and get her out of this house.

Great visit last week from our friend Sabrina. It has been since December, Grant's memorial service, since we have seen each other. In so many ways like a reunion. Best part of my week by far is when she got to finally hold Clara.
We are loving this weather outside. As always I am so blessed to live so close to both our families. They have all been so helpful with Madeline and Clara.

Clara really struggles with tummy time. She has now just figured out, I'll just lay my head down and sleep. As I have always told her, since she was big enough to fit in my arms and listen, "you are such a mess"

That smile is so great to see on her! Wow, amazing little tiger that she is so happy after all she has been through in her young life. Sounds like you are a striking a great balance of caring for and enjoying both Madeline and Clara now that you are all home together.
