We have made it through seven days at Madeline's new school. I only have received one phone call about her blood sugar, and so far no tears about having to go back. For me it has been weird not being apart of her everyday at school. I do miss our rides together, times we would meet in the hall, and the many times we hung out in my classroom before and after school. Now our times are just so short with our quick trips to the bus stop. I think everyday how she has grown into this amazing little girl, so smart and brave.
In all my school age days I never had to move to a new school, without a ton of people moving up with me. I know how the first week must have been super scary for her, not knowing anyone in her class, a brand new place to figure out where to go, and a new staff to take care of her type one.I just kept praying that she would find her way and God would be with her every moment...and He has. What a normal thing I know to go to a new school without your mom, but it was so hard just letting it all go. Such a huge experience for both of us.
I continue to be very proud of my sweet Madeline. She continues to be my anchor and keeps life just so very normal for both Jason and I. Her past several years of "first days of school" have been so wonderful. These precious memories are just ones of several Maddie moments that keep my heart full.
Madeline's first day of 2 year preschool. Garner First Baptist.
She cried when we left. The only time she ever did that on a "first day of school"
Three year preschool. Garner First Baptist
Four Year preschool. Garner First Baptist.
First day of Kindergarten
I was actually pregnant with Clara. This day I went to UNC hosptial, where I had Clara two days later.
Best teacher ever that year! Mrs.Martin. God just knew how much we needed her to get us through Maddie's year of kindergarten.
I am sure she was telling me here to stop...or go away!!.
First grade with Mrs Adams and Mrs Simpson. A fabulous year with a great teacher. Madeline grew so much that year with reading and math. Also she was diagnosed with type one in March. Both her teachers took such great care of her.
