Clara's room

It has been very important to me to keep Clara's room a nursery and not a hospital room full of equipment, supplies, etc. Her nurses are in there with her all through the night, and during some times parts of the day. The room has to stay very organized so all can know where things are, go. Everything has a place.

We are in the process of getting some photos in her room, as well. So it is not finished. Ill send the final pics later.  Maybe this room will help you, if you have medical equipment in your babies/child room. Our surplus of supplies I put in the hall closet. The nurse orders all the supplies, and restock them once a month when UPS delivers. One thing I didn't take a photo of was our video camera monitor. It is such a must. At night we are able to sit downstairs while she is asleep because we can listen to her pulse ox and watch her if she needs us. A MUST if you have a child with a trach.

These photos were taken at night.

these pockets are labeled.

Clara's hospital box

before Clara came home we had a painting day. We each painted something for her room. I did the owl and madeline the flowers. It was super fun.

I took this photos just to show all the tubes that go along with Clara. The large one is only for the cool mist, which she is only on while she is in her room. I am always stepping on something.

In this photo we are getting ready for bed time. I put on Clara's cool must with her blue trach guard. We do pajamas, stretches, change her pulse ox probe to the other foot with fresh tape. lots of kisses, then I clean her stoma with sterile water with a little drop of mild Johnson's and Johnson's baby soap mixed in,on clean q tips. The pillow helps with rolling her head back.

If you have any questions about anything please message me. Like I said having a child with medical needs is so over whelming. Organization is the key. Just something like a $6.00 shoe organizer the closet door is so helpful.
