Happy Fourth Birthday my Sweet Clara!
My letter to you as you celebrate being 4.
I can't imagine not being your mom. I think of your journey, and I am amazed at your perseverance and strength, your big personality, and your love. You make your daddy, Maddie and myself so happy. Your life has not always been easy. We have had our ups and downs, and everything in between. Sometimes it felt impossible, and we had to learn to hope when none of it made sense. However we got through all of it, and will continue to do so with a whole lot of love and faith.
I have so many wishes for you Clara. If I had to pick one, I think it would be a wish, a prayer that the Lord would make a place for you.
Now that you are a big girl, you will need sometimes be away from home, from us and your nurses. Such as going to school. And as scary as it seems for all of us, it's really the best gift we can continue to give you. An opportunity for you to be apart of this world, and experience God's plan for you.
So I pray that the Lord will provide a place for you Clara. A place where others are compassionate, and understanding. A place that can take such good care of you, but also challenge you to be the best you can be. A place with others that can see how smart you are, even when you can't tell them. A place that won't see you as a burden, but a huge blessing that has a story bursting to be shared. It won't always be easy, there will be unkindness and obstacles. It will be work, a lot of learning, and I know we will have to fight for you. But I think it will be mostly be wonderful. Most people will love you and see the miracle that you are. I think some will even see you the way we do, and the way you want to be seen....so smart and funny.....a friend for life, that will always love, laugh with you, and wave hellos and give kisses.
This and so many other things we hope for you. You know exactly the rest. We tell you these all the time. You will do amazing things, and will continue to make us proud.
Happy Birthday my sweet baby girl. May all your wishes come true.
