End of the Year!

When GOD has handed you a cup full of blessings. Sweeten it with a heaping spoonful of gratitude.  (Lucado)

Two more days of school! Last week we celebrated Madeline graduating from Kindergarten. I can't believe it! It's like I literally blinked and she turned into this older, smarter, (little more sassy) version of herself.Surely I was there? I mean really....I remember all the 200+ sight words and phrases, and all those books!  It just happened so fast. She is growing up.

Jason and I are just so proud of her. She has the very best set of teachers, that have truly taken care of her and were so great to us. God just put them both in her little life this year because he knew she would need them.

Through out this year, as I have said before, Madeline has been our constant. Without her at home then, when Clara was in the hospital,, we would have nothing but sadness and worry to come home too. She was our Joy, kept us going, gave us normal, and reminded us how God had already blessed us so.

She STILL continues to be all of those things. Madeline is very much 6 going on 16. She challenges us on a daily basis about who is in charge, and tells me all the time how I am ruining her life :) But...she still has that wild imagination, playful spirit, love for her mommy and daddy, and this strong will toughness that has always been there. She is MY constant.

I worry about her all the time getting lost in all this shuffle, having less of us, our house (her privacy) invaded by nurses, more time alone. She has had to become a big sister/a nursing assistant all at once. So many of our moments together are far and few in between now, but I do try to make new ones that include Clara. She likes to help, learn, and know how valuable she is.

In talking to another mom yesterday at school with a special needs son, she pointed out how she, her husband, her daughter would not be who they are without.... who he is. I thought immediately......never thought of it that way! So glad I can see it that way now, and AMEN!

Jason, Clara, Madeline and myself are on this journey together, changing, adapting, learning, and being molded into the people GOD intends us to be.
